Nordica is set to launch flights to the Danish capital Copenhagen in spring

Nordica’s growth is progressing as planned, and this includes flights to Copenhagen, which will start on 27 April 2018. The Danish capital is home to the region’s largest airport, which this year is forecast to serve 30 million passengers. Historically, Copenhagen has proven a very popular hub for Estonians, as it offers convenient connections to more than 160 destinations all over the world.

Chairman of the Management Board of Nordica Jaan Tamm says the Danish capital is the logical next step in implementing the company’s strategic plans. “The biggest airport in Scandinavia is fast becoming Nordica’s second home base,” he explained. “We already operate a wide range of flights out of Copenhagen for SAS as well as charter flights for Dutch and Swedish local governments, so launching a Tallinn-Copenhagen route forms a natural part of our development. We want to find as many ways as we can to link Estonia even more closely to the rest of the world, since it’s beneficial to our economy.”

As a hub, Copenhagen offers Estonian travellers quick and easy connections to destinations around the globe. Starting in spring, passengers will be able to fly via the Danish capital to London, Birmingham and Manchester in the UK, the Irish capital Dublin, the US cities of New York, Boston and Chicago and many Asian destinations, including Beijing, Singapore, Hong Kong and Tokyo – with a minimum of time spent on stopovers. Copenhagen Airport also offers useful connections to larger cities in Central Europe.

Nordica’s morning flights to Copenhagen will depart from Tallinn at 7:00 on weekdays and its evening flights at 18:30 from Tuesday to Friday. The Sunday evening flight will depart for Copenhagen at 17:30. Return flights to Tallinn will depart at 8:10 from Monday to Friday and at 19:40 from Tuesday to Friday, with the Sunday evening flight departing Copenhagen at 18:40.

The launch of the Tallinn-Copenhagen route will also boost transit travel through Tallinn Airport: starting in spring passengers from the Danish capital will be able to fly with Nordica via Estonia to Kyiv, Vilnius and St Petersburg. The route will also give Ukrainian travellers the chance to reach Scandinavia via Tallinn.
