Split Airport, also known as Resnik Airport (Zračna luka Resnik), is situated around 25 km west of the city on the west side of Kaštela Bay, in the town of Kaštela, and extending into the adjacent town of Trogir. There is a good bus connection between the town and the airport and all buses depart from the front of the terminal. The bus ride takes around 40 minutes. All buses take passengers to Split bus station, which is located in the city centre next to the railway station and harbour.

Split lies on the eastern coast of the Adriatic Sea. It has been one of the most popular holiday destinations in Croatia throughout its history. The city’s extremely long history can still be felt today, especially in the Old Town. Every step takes you to an old antique statue, monument or historical building. In addition to sightseeing, you can also visit one of Split’s beautiful beaches, where you can relax, lie on the beach and enjoy the breathtakingly blue Adriatic Sea.

Since Split is located on the Adriatic coast, the region is blessed with an impressive selection of fish. Waiters at restaurants often walk around with large carts to show the day’s catch to visitors. Customers can point out the fish they want and wait while the local chefs turn it into a delicious meal. Locals and tourists alike spend their evenings on Bačvice or Riva. After spending some time there, people move on to the Old Town for the night to party in the numerous night clubs, bars and cafés.

In addition to beautiful beaches, Split also offers activities for families. The city is very child-friendly and offers lots of activities on the land, in the water and in the air.
