This city full of Scandinavian charm on the eastern coast of Zealand was founded as a Viking fishing village in the tenth century. There are many other sights to see as well.

Not least, the Carlsberg brewery, where several world-famous beers are brewed. Copenhagen is also a great destination for music lovers and the summer jazz festival, the biggest of the many events held in the city, offers music of many different varieties.

Copenhagen Airport, Kastrup – the main airport serving Copenhagen and the wider region and the busiest airport in Scandinavia – is located on the island of Amager, 8 km south-east of the centre of Copenhagen. The airport has three interconnected terminals.

The quickest way to reach the centre of Copenhagen from the airport is by train. The journey takes 20 minutes. There is also a rapid and comfortable metro to the city centre. A bus will take you to the centre of Copenhagen in half an hour, or you can take a taxi or hire a car.
