Various tests, a technical inspection with the representatives of the Bombardier factory and test flights were performed before the aircraft, which was built in 2011, was purchased. Maintenance and preparation works on the aircraft were also completed to ensure that it complies fully with effective EU regulations and the IASA (International Aviation Safety Assessment Program) requirements.
According to Nordica’s CEO Jaan Tamm, the addition of the sixth aircraft was planned well in advance and a need-based decision. “I am glad to welcome the newest member of our fleet, the CRJ900, in Tallinn, as it is a clear sign that Nordica is growing and developing,” said Tamm. “During the summer, we will gradually transfer to using our own fleet for operating flights and hope to be serving the flights departing from Tallinn only with our own planes already in the second half of this summer.”
In addition to the new CRJ900, the fleet of Nordica includes three 88-seat CRJ900 and two 70-seat CRJ700 planes, which have all be taken on long-term lease.
Nordica in cooperation with Adria Airways offers flights to 15 different European destinations this summer season. The route network includes summer flights to Paris, Nice, Split, Rijeka and Odessa, and year-round flights to Amsterdam, Berlin, Brussels, Kiev, Munich, Oslo, Stockholm, Trondheim, Vienna and Vilnius.
